Drone Filming Permits
Drone filming permissions in Turkey are handled separately from standard filming permits. While a regular filming permit in Turkey covers the production itself, professional drone operations are subject to additional aviation regulations and approvals through the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Foreign drone pilots cannot operate in Turkey on the basis of an EU or overseas drone licence. Foreign operators are subject to a separate authorisation procedure, which can make bringing your own pilot and drone considerably more complicated than working with a Turkish operator.
For commercial drone shoots, we work with licensed Turkish drone operators and coordinate the required flight permissions. Depending on the location and airspace, the approval process may involve coordination with other authorities and the publication of a NOTAM for the approved flight area.
